The winter events we create always feel special. Being able to deliver a solution that beats the elements, adds sparkle, whilst keeping guests warm and toasty, is always a pleasure. It was hard to choose just 5 winter events to feature in this blog but we’ve selected a variety of different occasions to highlight the solutions a marquee can provide.
This gala event really called for a touch of glamour as HRH the Prince of Wales would be in attendance. Taking place at Kenwood House with 200 guests to cater for, we were required not only to provide a marquee suitable for royalty, but also power, lighting, starlight lining, heating, entrance hall and catering marquees
As you will see from the picture below we provided a magical, starlit environment for the most glamorous of nights and won stellar praise from HRH himself.
Another significant event, the BBSRC 20th Anniversary celebration, pulled out all the stops. Taking place on land next to the Museum of Childhood in East London we provided marquees for an exhibition and informal drinks reception on the opening evening. This enabled the client to have a separate event space creating a special focus for this special anniversary.
As well as providing the marquee we also supplied lighting, power, heating and support technicians on site.
We have been delighted to work with Chessington Garden Centre for a number of years providing marquess for both their Halloween and Christmas events. Chessington Garden Centre’s Christmas Grotto is legendary, and is the second largest in the country (after the Trafford Centre). For an event of this size, attracting so many extra visitors, it is inevitable that additional space is needed.
We have been delighted to supply marquees to extend the café area so that the many hungry families can refuel in a warm and dry environment after visiting the big man in the red suit.
Providing the event space for a traditional German celebration, we were able to add theming to this marquee with lanterns and drapes in the national flag’s colours.
The celebration was hosted by German Ambassador Dr Peter Ammon with many dignitaries in attendance.
We were delighted to provide event space for this creative arts hub that houses offices, music studios and music rooms.
On top of the marquee we provided a dance floor, heating and toilets for this informal drinks reception, with a focus on live acts including Cigarla.
By looking back on some of our favourite winter events it has been fantastic to see the wide range of occasions that can be brought alive by the addition of a marquee. It can help you utilise what space you have already fully, enable extra capacity and give a magical feel to any occasion with the use of marquee accessories such as drapes, lighting and heating.
