The Client

Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance is the UK’s oldest vocational dance school, founded in 1920. Since then it has maintained its core values of innovation, creativity and individuality throughout.

The Challenge

The Covid pandemic meant that an additional dance studio was needed, allowing the students to socially distance. If the school was to re-open in March 2021, as planned, this additional space was vital.

The space had to provide a suitable environment for dancing, including flooring

The solution

Once a suitable location was identified (a car park next to the other studios), we provided a complete package that allowed them to dance safely.

Hard sides, solid doors and hard flooring provided the structure. Lighting and heating provided comfort and environment, with touch-free temperature screening to help covid protection. Concrete weights were added so that nothing moved!

This solution was installed in just two days.

The Result

The installation provided part of the plan that allowed Rambert School to re-open on the 8th March 2021, providing covid safety for their teachers and students.
